I have a M120CN.

While wiring the circulator pump I am getting some conflicting info. Is the green port marked " system pump relay" ment to controll the circulator pump directly, or only to power a relay for the pump?

I found the 122 page manual on line and, as you noticed, was nebulous at best at answering your question. I found the schematic and ladder diagrams for the controller on pages 113 and 114. What I found lead me to believe that what you are looking at is a control signal to activate a relay to drive the pump. Incidentally, was the circulation pump part of the page or did you have to buy and install it separately and is there a relay internal to the pump?

To be sure I'd call Rinnai and speak to a support person to be absolutely sure.

(PS. Find the manual here: "M120CN | Rinnai", under documentation, if you need a copy.)
