Replacing Dishwasher Gaskets

I have a 20+year old JennAir JDB1250AWS dishwasher.
It runs very quiet, but while recently pulling it apart to clean out the filters, I see the large circular gasket (#10 in diagram) is showing it's age...getting soft and distorted,
While most of the parts have been discontinued, I purchased a gasket set a while ago.

How do I replace the #10 gasket? Is this serviceable from inside the dishwasher...just pull off/press in?
Or does the unit have to be pulled out and work from the underside?

You could probably buy all the parts but is it worth it ? I just replaced a 25 yr old GE profile that was worn out with a $800 out the door Bosch 300 model. Holds 1/3 more dishes and is more energy efficient. Stainless steel interior and took 30 minutes to install because of how friendly it’s designed.

Hey gotta give you credit most people don't know to clean the filters that saves the pump

This one does not have a removable filter, so you have to dismantle a few components to get at the screens etc.
I found all kinds of gunk in there...pieces of plastic, nuts, threads wound around the macerator.
I used a pick, a shop vac and a fish tape down the drain hose. As well as a few cycles with vinegar.

It really quieted down the pump, which earlier sounded like it was struggling.

If any key components wear out, I am stuck. They are all discontinued after 23 years.
Since I have the gasket, I may as well put it in. Just don't want to screw up by doing it wrong.

Yes. Youtube was my first stop...checked for JennAir, Whirlpool and Maytag, as they have the same model.
But all the videos were for the door gasket...which is a simple task.
Nothing for the large gasket surrounding the filter area.
However, I did find the hidden button sequence for just draining the unit.

No luck with JennAir support.
The calls go to a third-party service center, with no techs to take calls, or service manuals available.
They only book service calls, which not worth it considering the age and discontinued parts.

From what I can see, the motor pump assembly has to be RE&RE from underneath to replace the gasket.
I am up to the task, as after 23 years it has lasted probably twice as long as the new ones do.

Every appliance has required at least one repair in their first couple years.
It is almost like manufacturers put in at least 1 faulty part. But once done, they have lasted 23 years.

Fridge/Freezer - thermistor switch
Washing machine - door switch
Stove - control panel
Microwave - handle and door switch. (this was only 4 years old when the handle broke. For the insane replacement cost, I should have just made my own.)
Dishwasher - door gasket.

I am now working on 1950"s shower faucets (washers and packing needed), and 1950 laundry sink faucets (washers and packing needed)

Your dishwasher has done well by you. My twelve year old LG has gone through three motors/sumps, one inlet solenoid, two door hinge spring cables and a detergent and rinse agent dispenser. It’s made me an expert on this particular model of dishwasher,

We've moved on as well. Ours could have been a lemon but replacing the complete sump thrice would say otherwise. In their defense, the inlet solenoid was clogged due to stuff coming from a failed water heater or stop valve.

in my neck of the woods dishwashers used to last 5 years, Hard water. so i would just replace a 20 years dishwasher .
