My brother's shaving brush fell into the toilet, and he decided to flush it out. It got stuck in the pipe leading out of the toilet bowl (he estimates it's approximately in the position pointed to by the red arrow in the image. It's been like this for 6 months, and feces seems to have accumulated around it, causing the flushing to be problematic (the water goes out very slowly).
We called a plumber, and he says that removing the grey pipe (pointed to by the green arrow) is difficult. He suggests some complicated procedure of removing the tiles and the entire commode and redirecting the grey portion of the pipe downward instead of having it horizontally, because my brother had told him that even before the shaving brush fell in, the water used to recede a bit slowly (but not as slow as now).
The bathroom floor is half a foot higher than the floor of the house, and the image below shows the pipe (painted yellow) leading out of the toilet. It's just outside the wall that you can see straight ahead in the picture above.
Is the plumber being unreasonable? Isn't it possible to easily remove the grey pipe and extract the shaving brush? Or perhaps just use some bathroom tools?
