Admittedly, I don’t have much experience with plumbing, but I’m having difficulty figuring out just where the clog might be and the best way to go about fixing it.
The first indication of a clog was all of a sudden the shower floor filled with water one night.
A little liquid plumber the next day did not fix the issue.
I tried plunging the shower drain which resulted in a dirty shower floor and a few big hair balls but the draining did not improve.
I picked up a 25’ snake over the weekend and gave it a try, pulling out another hairball 6-8 foot in but still no drainage improvement.
Earlier tonight I attempted the snake again and managed to get a good 15’ in and picked up no hair.
Now the toilet in that bathroom will not flush but the water will drain down lower than normal and the water in the bowl bubbles when I run the sink.
Last night the toilet did the same thing before eventually working like normal again.
The sink still drains as normal with the exception of the bubbles in the toilet.
Also, I attempted to plunge the shower again earlier and now have nice brown water standing in the shower verses the grayish water from the plunging last weekend.
I can’t figure out why the sink drains fine while the other fixtures are acting up, especially when the sink is between the toilet and shower, with the toilet being nearest the outside wall with a clean out located just outside in the yard.
Also worth mentioning is that no other fixtures in the home are experiencing any issues.
Any suggestions on where I might could use the drain snake that could possibly help this situation?
Thanks

You can get a 25 ft, 35 ft, even 50 ft 5/16ths diameter snake.
The 1/4 inch snakes are too wimpy, and 5/16 snakes have two layers so are less likely to break off while snaking.
You can also rent a smaller power snake from a big box or rental center.

You probably pushed a big clog further down the line, you need to go longer now.
Also, you might not be twisting the snake enough as you go, more rotation is more better, haha.

Maybe the sink is backed up to a sink in the room behind it, and so it is draining out another way?

You could still try drain cleaner, like Instant Power from Home Depot, but you should try to wait overnight until as much water has drained past the clog as possible.
Then pour about a pint, or even a quart of drain cleaner into the shower drain, followed by about a half gallon of very hot tap water, which you drew from somewhere else in the house.
Do not use boiling water.
Wait at least several hours, then see if the shower will drain.

The 25 foot snake should go in 25 feet.
Keep trying, crank it more vigorously and more often.
If it stops advancing, try pulling it back a few inches, then crank in counter-clockwise direction.
Sometimes that will get you past a stubborn transition, a tee, wye, whatever.
Also, if it stops it could be bumped up to a giant hair clog, crank the piss out of it, and good luck!

Sometimes the snake will try to crawl up the vent, so be persistent and crank different directions with gentle pressure as you advance.

Lots of easy jokes about that last statement, haha!

You can also try snaking out the toilet with a 6 foot toilet auger, it might unclog everything.
A 3 foot toilet auger won’t reach very far into the main drain, 6 feet is more likely to snag something.
