Pressure regulating valve repair/replacement

Hi there!

My pressure regulating valve isn't working and needs to be fixed. The manufacturer said that the valve can be repaired using a repair kit. Is there any downside to using a repair kit instead of replacing the whole valve?

If the repair kit actually repairs it then that’s great.

I would buy and install the new valve. The I’d tear down the old valve and examine it. If the part in their kit will replace all of the worn parts in the old valve, then I’d order the kit, and keep the old valve on hand as a spare.
