We are closing on a second home for a daughter. The kitchen was not configured for a built-in dishwasher, so we're thinking about adding a second faucet to the left of the main faucet. From the fuzzy picture, it looks like a spray nozzle is part of the faucet system and there is an air gap to the left. Is it possible to add a single valve faucet with a shut off valve in the hole where the spray nozzle is mounted. The 2nd faucet would have an adapter to allow the portable dishwasher to easily attach its hose.
In a few days I'll be taking some measurements to consider other options (like hollowing out cabinet space). Is the idea for the second faucet a little too extreme, or not easy to get permitted even if done by a pro plumber in a blue state? If the second faucet does not have the correct overhang, it might look like a hobby project. TIA for any opinions.
