I easily replaced my kichen sink, fixtures, and garbage disposal. Now I need to perform a number of minor (hopefully) repairs on plumbing in other areas of my house. But I am not fluent enough in plumbing lingo or the proper names of many parts to discuss my issues or search for parts. I know a valve is the dohickey that controls water flow. A faucet is the thingamijig where the water comes out. Beyond that, Most other parts are just whatchamacallits that cuase problems. Where can I find generic diagrams with elements and functions labeled?
Thanks much,
AnaG

Best bet is to google It. Or go to say deltas website and look at their faucets and they usually have a breakdown of parts. Im a 3rd year and for some simple basic stuff I even use google. Take it with a grain of salt of course, the Internet isn't always the most reliable. Or you could just ask more specific questions in our forum and I bet we can help you out. Plenty of ways to learn haha

Thanks for reply stevemachine. Browsing Delta is a good idea. Maybe it will at least give me a word to start googling (I don't think a search for "whatchamacallit" would be helpful :))

AnaG, just post a pic of your Dohickey -- Thingamijig -- Whatchamacallit . Someone here will let you know what it is/does/should do or where you may be able to find infomation it. There's lots of plumbing knowledge here that will be glad to help.
