Pex Fittings - Plastic vs Brass

I am installing some Pex tubing in the baseement of a house that has had the copper cut out while it sat vacant. Looking at both plastic and brass connectors. Is there a consensus about which is better? The plastic is certainly less expensive, but it seems as though the opening narrows considerably (down to about 1/4" it seems on the 1/2" connector). Will I notice an appreciable drop in pressure/volume if I use Plastic? I want good water pressure/volume so I have no problem spending more on the brass if it's better. Thanks

Generally the pvc (plastic) pex is your best bet all around

It depends on your water. Some water can leach the brass an you have to use the plastic.
