Hello all and thanks for having me. I am trying to replace an old single handle bath sink faucet, but the old one is held on by a threaded rod with a rectangular piece of metal with a threaded hole in it. The problem is the water inlet pipes are right beside the rod so I can't loosen it from underneath. I have never seen a setup like this. I figure it must have to be loosed and removed from the top, but I can't get the chrome part to come off. I got the handle, valve, and large chrome nut off, but the housing won't budge. Can anyone help me with how to get this thing off so I can replace it? Thank you very much in advance.

Take some pics and post. Show it from the top and take a pic looking up from under the cabinet.

Thanks for the reply Twowaxhack. I took your suggestion and took a couple of pictures and in them I see a small hex nut on the threaded rod that I could not get in far enough before to see. Now I have to figure out how to get it loose....lol Thanks again for the idea.

If your replacing the faucet with new you can bend or ever break those old lines on the faucet to get them out of your way.
