Caution rant ahead.
I hate these threads.
Everytime I go to pick up a connector, the threads are wonky.
Learned the hard way about but, or bps, or whatever the heck it is.
Went to pick up a standard shutoff valve. You think I could find one with fpt to match my npt nipples... grrr there all ips. Maybe that would work, but why take a chance.
And getting a brand that's a good one, and not from China (but they all probably come from there anyway)
I just want to put it togeather and not have to worry about leaking / rust, whatever.
Ok, rant over.
Now... corrugated stainless vs braided for water heater. I'm thinking just stick with corrugated.

I’m reporting you to the WWTC. World Wide Thread Commission

We can’t be having people like you advocating for simplicity and maintain the level of fuckery that keeps everyone confused so cut it out.

So sorry!

Where are you finding the BSP threads here in the USA? The only place I can think of is on obscure internationally sourced fixtures. You are unlikely to accidentally find BSP fittings at Lowe’s…

I haven’t seemed to find problem fittings that don’t fit when buying them at respected vendors.

My bsp problem came when I was trying to find a 1 inch to 3/4 reducer. I ordered one from Amazon, and it was my fault, at that point, I assumed it was npt thread, but no, bsp... no matter what I did, it dripped. That was my introduction.
But the latest was just finding a ball shutoff for my water heater install. It's either cheap China crap , or home depot at 2x the price. So it's a home depot valve. Ever built or apollo.... or reliabilt from lowes.
