New Well Filters Clogged After Heavy Rains

Hello Friends,

I have a 25' shallow dug well.

My 3 - new filters have already clogged after a week of heavy rains. The filters are - 5micron, absolute 1micron, absolute 1micron carbon (matrikx+1). This problem has never happened before. This fact leads me with two questions that I was hoping someone on this forum could help me with.

1. Could it be due to the fact that we dug a new trench to the well in order to replace the well line and all of the dirt that we dug up is now draining into the well?

2. Is there any way to clean those filters? the Matrikx+1 cost me $80.

You are going to have to tell us a lot more about your well, your pump, tank if you have one and anything else you can tell us about your system.

What are you using this water for? How many gallons per minute are you using? Why do you think you need filters? What are you trying to filter out?
