I installed hot water recirculating system with a dedicated return line with a pump connected at the drain pipe on the hot water heater.
The problem is it is being gravity fed and still circulating when the pump timer has shut down. How do I stop this from being a gravity fed system?

That should do it. The first recirculating systems were designed to work on gravity. But I do understand your reasoning to try to prevent it. Be sure you install it with the arrow pointing in the direction of flow.

I installed the flow check and it works great.
Thanks John for taking the time to answer questions from a lost diy-er
