Hi folks. I attempted to perform the simple job of replacing my girlfriend's parents' flapper valve, and although the replacement flapper was supposed to be universal, it wasn't the correct type (see attached pic). So I bought an entire universal kit to replace everything inside of the tank, and that wasn't exactly universal either.

Their toilet is a one piece design, and it seems that to replace the part that the flapper seals to, it's done from inside tank (since there's no removable tank).

Does anyone know where I can just purchase the correct flapper, and if not the flapper alone, a kit that would work for this type of toilet? Thanks. I don't want to screw up a third time and have them think I can't fix simple things. :)

Thanks to both of you for the info!

Is removing the old one as simple as spinning the flapper disk off and installation just spinning it on? It doesn't appear their can be another way of doing it.

Use some small pliers to hold the screw while you spin the disk off. Then spin the new one on.

If you lift the flush assembly too far back you’ll break the plastic tab that prevents the assembly from staying up when it’s flushed. If it’s broke when you flush the toilet the screw on disk will never drop back down. If this little plastic tab breaks you’ll have to replace the flushvalve.
