This is 1 of 3 projects I have lined up (converting toilet drain to shower, installing commercial sink are the others), and is probably the simplest, so I'm starting here.
Sink currently
J
new sink basic concept
So I'll be shifting the setup left, which means I'm going to have to rework those pipes.
I'm thinking I might have to cut into the wall in order to cut the pipe so that I have enough room to flue the new pipe onto what is in the wall?
It's not like I have to move the piping too much, essentially the difference could be swinging the new trap left instead of too the right, with maybe the difference of a few inches depending on where I set the new sink.
And then I guess the new pressurized water is another question, if I can use flex pipe from the current hot/cold position, or if I will have to cut and glue new fixed pipe.
For anyone interested,
I'm thinking about getting a wood counter purpose hardwax oiled for bathroom counters. I can't really afford anything nice like marble, I cut it myself to size, and its nicer than vinyl particle.
Something like this,

And then I was thinking of insetting or top setting a sink with a bit of a vanity to it, to help minimize direct water contact to the wood, and make sink cleaning easier... less sink muck getting onto the wood.

touchless faucet like this

Thanks for any tips/help. First DIY plumbing project.
