New member here with some questions on a subject that has probably been beaten to death...
I have a Bradford White Infiniti Tankless water heater, and am experiencing the typical problem of having to wait for the hot water to arrive at the taps--specifically in the kitchen and bathroom. I have gone through many of the past postings regarding this subject, and I have come to the conclusion that since there are frequent/short duration needs for hot water in the kitchen, that a mini tank heater might work best. In the bathroom, a recirculating pump would suffice, since the main use would be prior to showering.
If my assumptions are correct, I have a few questions:
1) In the kitchen, I am considering either a Stiebel-Eltron or Eemax/Rheem/Ecosmart and would like some feedback as to which brand is better. Also, although I do have a corner cabinet, it would be difficult to squeeze in a 6 gallon tank--Would a 4 gallon suffice? I would plan on feeding it from the hot water of the Bradford White--Does that make sense?
2) Regarding the recirculating pump--I am surprised/confused as to what to get, as well as the wide range in prices. Since it would be used primarily only for a few minutes in advance of taking a shower, I would like to find something with button or switch that I could simple turn on/off--or alternatively use a smart plug. I have seen pumps from $180 (Prozrted) to over $600 (Taco)--I don't mind paying a little more upfront if it proves to be more reliable, but not sure if it is worth paying almost $700...
I should mention that the primary reason for purchasing the Bradford White was space consideration in the mechanical room--So, energy savings is not necessarily a top priority--but on the other hand, I don't want to waste money either.
Thanks in advance for all input and suggestions
