Any quick fixes before can get a pro in house. 70 yrs old threaded joint copper 2" pipe just started leaking when draining sink/dishwasher. Need a solution to stop leak before can get it professionally fixed.

Plan to get all iron pipes removed at same time so taking some time getting quotes..

Thanks

hardware store 'repair wrap'
1679790129478.png You will have to remove the pipe strap.
BTW the dead plumber used a water pressure fitting instead of a proper drainage fitting.

Thanks I tried looking but saw several different repair tapes do you know a specific brand that works well?

How long does a "fix" like this last?
You tell us. 😁 Seriously, even knowing the details of the original failure, it’s impossible to know within an order of magnitude how long that particular tape applied just like that will last in that environment. I’m guessing exactly a year. (Given the above I mean between 1/10 of a year and 10 years).

I’d keep an eye on it and continue to collect estimates, and get it fixed properly when you reasonably can.
