Kitchen strainer connection leaking

1st post
Kitchen strainer to waste abs keeps leaking at the adapter.
Adapter for waste drain to screwed directed onto the strainer.
I just tried a new part and it stills leaks..not as much!
The adapter has the little round pastic washer in it.
What am I doing wrong.

Can you take an actual picture of the connection and the washer you are using.
