Back in 2021 iron level was 0.036. In Aug 2024 it’s 2.13. Issue is twofold:
1) low well recovery rate at 2.5 gpm. Is it due to lack of rain water? Clogged veins from bedrock? Iron buildup clogging veins? The recovery rate is important to us because we have whole hole RO system causing our well to run continuously for a few hours. Currently well is about 325 ft deep and pump is at 300 ft. And water level once recovered is 60-80 ft from surface so plenty of water - just slow to recover
2) is the amount of iron due to well casing corroding or Mother Nature?

At this point we’re waiting to see if more rain post drought flushes iron and improves recovery rate. If not then need to determine if well casing is corroding causing iron or if it’s the bedrock veins in which case we may consider hydrofracking before we dig deeper or a new one.

Any thoughts? Thanks!
