A customer of mine wants to use a previously used 80 gallon water heater. It is a Rheem, and it has PB still attached to the T&P valve. This makes me think that the unit is rather old, and I am going to reccomend that she purchases a new unit, either through me or on her own. It would help if I could tell her just how old it is. I have the #'s off of the heater, and am wondering if there is any way to tell how old it is? No manufacturing date on the plate.

According to the website the first two numbers of the serial is the month and second two is the year. Did not know that
