I asked my HVAC guys if they do plumbing. "Only water heaters," was the answer. Good, that is what I needed. A water heater replacement. After they did the job, I noticed that hot water to the kitchen sink is now about half pressure. I seem to have full hot water pressure to every place else in the house. What could be wrong?

You had an hvac guy do the plumbing, that's the problem.
could be undersized piping, non-full port valves, debris from shattered heat trap nipple, ball of solder (if copper was used), internal cement blockage (if cpvc was used).

Try removing the aerator on the kitchen faucet. Chances are it just needs cleaning.

Chances are that when the water heater was changed, it broke up some sediment/rust from your pipes and it is now clogged within your faucet. With any luck, you can remove the junk by taking out the aerator screen and giving it a clean out. If it is still clogged, you may need to take the faucet apart to remove the bigger particles within the faucet.

This is true, unless the sediment was clogged up within the mixer. it sure wouldn't hurt to check that the valve at the W/H was fully opened.

I'd say aerator but if only the hot side is weak and the rest of the house has good pressure u might try checking the stop under the sink, disconnect it from the faucet and open it into a bucket if that's not the problem I would say something is in the cartridge on the hot side

All other hot water taps in the house flow freely. So I guess that points to the line that feeds the kitchen sink, right? How do I get out of that line whatever is blocking it?

Remove the supply lines from under the faucet and verify that you have full pressure on both the hot and cold side. Once this is confirmed, you have a few choices. Either begin dissecting your faucet yourself, hire a knowledgeable person to remove it for you so they can dissect the faucet, or toss it and purchase a new faucet.
