I have an automatic steam vent (refer to attached) that attaches itself on the side of my bathroom heating pipe. It's been hissing for over 24-hours and has become extremely annoying. The building super is out of town until late next week so he can't help me. I lightly tapped the vent with a hammer, thinking that it may be partially clogged, but that didn't work.
As a temporary fix, can I wrapped the vent with aluminum foil so that it limits the annoying hissing sound?
