Hi,

In process of replacing a faucet that has a crack causing water to leak. Trying to remove the faucet that I did not install so I have no idea how it was mounted nor any documentation. There is some rust and what appears to be a set screw. Trying to figure out the correct way to remove the faucet mount. Screw doesn't move, hex shaft also doesn't move. Both were sprayed with penetrating fluid. Trying to determine whether it's just the screw I need to get out or the entire hex shaft (or both). Don't want to cut it apart unless I have no other choice. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

The hex shaft will unthread, it is probably just rusted pretty good. Do you have a socket and extension? that is what I would use. Once it is removed, wiggle the top and the "C" collar will fall down and you remove the faucet through the top of the hole.

It’ll probably never unscrew but you could break it off with a good socket and extension
