Hello, I was trying to set up a countertop RO water filter unit, but had a problem with setting up the drain line, because the kitchen sink is far away in middle of the kitchen island.
I am trying to put this unit on top of the counter next to our fridge by using the fridge water line, but did not have a solution for the drain line. I was thinking of making a hole on the floor to make the drain line go below into the basement, around a large air duct sitting in the way, and up to the sink drain in the island. Diagram attached below (drain tube in red):
I have no idea if this will work because of all the pathway the drain has to travel, and I am assuming it will be around 20ft in length overall. It is going to be a 1/4" plastic drain tube from the unit to the kitchen sink drain. Is this even feasible? Will there be issues with proper draining or anything? Please let me know if there is a better way to get this done, or if I should connect the drain tube to somewhere else. Any recommendations and advice will be great! Thank you.
