Hello,

I am writing here for some advice from professional plumbers and electricians. I left my home on the Panhandle Dec 22nd and not returning for a couple of weeks. We will have approximately 10 hours of hard freeze tonight and then again this week, but not as long.

Do we turn off the water at the meter? Do we need to turn off the power main? A friend was at the house and did not leave a key, so we are having to take other precautions instead of dripping hot and cold inside and having the heat at a normal temp.

Thank you so much for your advice and help!! It's really appreciated!

Everyone, stay warm and cozy!

Do you have a slab or off grade home ? When I leave my home for a period of time I always turn off the water to my home and the breaker to my water heater even though I have someone come by and check the place.
