Gate Valve on PVC Sprinkler Pipe

Ok took everyone’s advice , did it myself and replaced the valve and had to replace the male adapter too, not the prettiest but works and hope it lasts a long time ( this union valve is a beast)

Now you have a little confidence as long as it works that’s what counts

Yes I do have more confidence now!

In reality it was simple ( I have installed toilets and replaced valves in the house) but was nervous about pvc. I did have to go to Home Depot for the male adapter. As I was cutting the top part, the pvc cracked just under the adapter (old age) so it’s better I got a whole new adapter and pipe to add to it.

pvc primer and glue is messy stuff though...
