So my gas grill doesn't seem to get hot any more. Like it is not getting proper gas. Flame is still high but just not the same as it used to be. It is stubbed off my house and has been for a couple years.

Yeah still good and blue. It is getting to the point where it just takes forever to cook food. I only use it 5 or so days a week and it has been like this for a month or two now. Maybe I need to tear it down and scrub everything?

I need to do the same. I also need new burners and deflectors, but the cost of those items are almost as much as a new grill.

So i took it apart and it was clean as can be down there but when I light it (I have four burners) Only one side of each burnier lights, they are two sided burners but I can not figure how the opposite side is suppose to light?

I would say that there's gotta be something plugging those orfices. I know mine lights up like a charm, I only have two burners but still its like a furnace, it just needs one source of ignition to light 4 burners. Can you remove the burners? If you had something like a pin you could check each individual orfice to see if there obstruction. If you're really a go getter you could blow through it where gas comes through to see if its making to those back orfices.

Mine also lights like a charm and all burners work great but only half of each one. and it is the same half on each. My igniters on all are electric with a gas flow like a little flame thrower and they all light right up on the left side of the burner but the right side doesn't light at all on any. I can light them with a match and they work fine.

Chris, If you have a owners manuel post a pics that shows how to assembly, If not whats the make/model

I don't have the manual but it is a Jennair made in 2006. I will see if I can find a model number. 4 burner with a rotisserie burner. Worked fine up until a couple months ago when it stopped getting as hot so I assume that it when the other half of the burners stopped lighting.

If I do leave it on for some time now two of the burners will fully light.

Chris, try turning on one burner and see what happens , if the flames are fine with just one burner , try all burners one at a time.

Check your burner for any cracks or holes. I had a similar problem with my old cast iron burner and upon pulling it apart, saw a lot of rust holes stopping the gas from making the entire loop.

I have tried turning them on one by one and it is no different. Tonight I turned on two of them and when I lit the third it fired up the opposite side of number two burner.

Mark I have pulled all the burners out and checked them, they all look new, no rust, grease or anything blocking anything and no cracks. I am stumped.

It has to be blocked orifices then. Is this LP or NG?

(A footnote: I have had a few LP tanks that have been doing the same recently. If you open and close the valve a few times, it seems to increase the LP pressure)

It is NG, I too have had that problem with the LP. It is acting similar to that. It is odd because all four burners are doing the same thing. I guess I can pull it back apart and take another look.

If NG, have you checked the pressure to make sure your ball valve isn't partially closed/gummed up? Should be what...8-9 lbs?

I haven't checked it but I do use the ball valve all the time, I am paranoid about a leak so I constantly shut it out at the house connection.

It doesn't leak at all and it is only a few years old. I guess I just like knowing for sure that everything is shut down completely.
