Hi All,

I've been trying to troublehsoot the low pressure on my fridge water dispenser. I replaced the filter, still low pressure. Removed the water line and checked if that was the culprit, and it is low coming from the floor.

I have been reading that 'most' installations tap into the cold line coming from underneath the sink although I simply do not see it!! I am tearing my hair out to find where this line comes from! I have checked the basement lines from the main and the hot water heater area, still no luck.

Can anyone tell me where this line might be coming from?

Thanks in advance!! :)

What line did you remove if you can,t find your stop(shutoff valve) ? The line going to the fridge or the line that runs from the bottom to top of fridge.

There is a good chance that the connection point is were your problem may be. Most of these connections are made with saddle fittings that in time become plugged. Look for a water line that is close by. A saddle fitting looks like a clamp that is fastened around the water line. There should be a very small valve connected to it.

I think you hit the nail on the head. I forgot about the ole saddle valve, with a clogged saddle valve or pipe hole, one could remove the ice maker line with no spray.

Took a picture of my main shutoff valve in the basement, had this line running parallel to it, small copper line but I cant tell if this is actually suppose to have water in it and if the clamps on the pipe are meant the tap into it? I dont see any penetration in between the fitting and valve. APPRECIATE YOUR HELP!!! :)

Shaun, thats your electric grounding clamp. Google saddle valve , to see what you should be looking for. Take a photo of floor under fridge ( in the basement) where line comes through and a photo inside the cabinet under kitchen sink.

That's an electrical ground wire. A saddle valve will look similar to that but that's not it. Is there a bathroom that backs up to the fridge? If so then check under the bathroom sink. It should be connected to a near by water line.
Good morning IFIXH2O you got me again.

Image on left is behind the fridge and close up of where the fridge line terminates to the floor (no clue where it goes after that).

Image on right, under the kitchen sink which is approx 10 ft from fridge, no saddle valve in there. Also shut off the line to dishwasher since it goes behind cabinet, not tied to fridge. Hope the images give some clarity, still looking for that saddle valve! Any other places it could be hiding?

Can't you see the line in the basement from were it goes through the floor? You should be able to see it if the basement isn't finished. Just follow it to were it connects to your water line.

john :) You are super quick on the replies but the basement is finished. Forgot to mention :\

Shaun , thats your shutoff valve at the floor, the
Brass shutoff that the white flex hose is connected
To. Close and reopen the tee handle , then recheck
Your pressure .

Shaun, If you closed and reopened that tee handle of the needle valve and your pressure did not return , the needle valve may need replace , due to the fact that
the piercing stem tip may have rusted away and you can not repierce the hole in
the valve.
