This is the 1/2 inch shutoff for a gas dryer line. I have several nipples for connecting to this valve.Do I screw in a nipple with a tapered/flared end into this shut-off? Do I screw in a nipple with a non -flare? I understand that the yellow extension hose is meant for the flare/taper on both ends. Too many options. Thank you.You need to be a little more descriptive
YesWhat!? Are you doing? That looks like a termination valve used for connecting to a gas appliance using a gas flex line.
Do you need to extend this to connect to your appliance?
I have that but it comes with adapters that attach to the shut-off. not sure what adapter to use.One adapter flared on both ends the other flared for flex hose and straight on the other end.You just need a lengthy flex line in the appropriate size.
Not to be mean, but if you don't know which fitting to use, maybe you shouldn't be working with gas piping. The correct fitting would be obvious to someone with just a little mechanical aptitude. I know this is a DIY forum, but questions like this make me a little uneasy when taking about gas. A small leak can be very dangerous. Water leaks, gas explodes.I have that but it comes with adapters that attach to the shut-off. not sure what adapter to use.One adapter flared on both ends the other flared for flex hose and straight on the other end.
