This is the 1/2 inch shutoff for a gas dryer line. I have several nipples for connecting to this valve.Do I screw in a nipple with a tapered/flared end into this shut-off? Do I screw in a nipple with a non -flare? I understand that the yellow extension hose is meant for the flare/taper on both ends. Too many options. Thank you.

What!? Are you doing? That looks like a termination valve used for connecting to a gas appliance using a gas flex line.
Do you need to extend this to connect to your appliance?
