I'm a tenant renting a house on Ontario, CA.

Ontario has inspections for residential rental v properties that occur every 4 years.

The inspectors came and dinged the landlord for having the washer and dryer installed in the garage instead of the sun room as per the permit.

The v landlord asked me to watch the plumber who had to move the washer and dryer to the proper location.

I noticed that the drain vent pipe was installed in an interior wall. The drain vent is approximately 6' tall.

My concern is that the drain vent will vent into an enclosed interior wall.

I don't know if this installation will be within code.

I appreciate your assistance.

ALL plumbing vents must be vented to the outside of the house and 6" above the roof level where the vent penetrates the roof.

Are you sure the vent isn't connecting to the main vent stack in the attic?
