I love inspectors like that but if there was a problem, you would never know until it was time to sell your house.

In my area the minimum is 12" for all vents. That applies to stack vents, vent stacks and 'poop vents' (hehe).
The main reason vents should be 12" through the roof is because of snow cover in cold climates.
