I believe this is either a pressure or temperature balance valve. I also believe it is creating a hot/cold crossover leak. I need to identify it to get service parts.
Do you recognize this valve?

Yes, I know it appears to be rather andro-human-oid.
And yes, I live here in the states, Idaho. The fixture is about 35 years old and is coupled with an American Standard Aquarian shower system. The shower and tub cartridges have been replaced. They are a type that is not accompanied by a pressure balance valve. The hot/cold crossover persists. This is the next valve in line.

Certainly no offense taken at all. I should have included all that information to begin with. Right now I'm seeing similar, but not identical fixtures from ROHL. It almost seems to be a shower/tub diverter with pressure valve, being used only for the pressure valve, with the tub output plugged, and some sort of hot/cold output mounted on top. There is a separate diverter in place. My luck to get someone's modification in my shower!! The search continues.
