OK I just remodeled my kitchen and got rid of my vent and ran it straight to the disposal. Will this cause any issues?

Regarding the dishwasher air gap, just secure the middle of the hose as high as you can within the cabinet which then will drop to the drain. That is what many do these days.

OH know I understand. I was getting hung up on the washing machine thing. I was thinking clothes washer. It must be a East Coast- West Coast thing.

No I am a retard. Its a dishwasher, Havasu can just read dumbass.

I have it hooked straight up now and yes I left it long and have it touching the bottom of the sink so water can not run back into the DISHWASHER.

I had planned on doing this exact thing at my g/f's house when she installed granite, but I walked in as the granite installer was drilling the hole for the air gap. I missed it by > < much!

I think they are there incase you get a back up in the disposal it is supposed to fill your sink. Pretty sure it will do the same this way since the dishwasher has a pump it will just come up from the drain now. And yeah I have flooded my counter and those things are just dirty.
