I have a Delta faucet with the built-in sprayer (see picture below).

This faucet is, at most, 15 years old (age of the house), but chances are good it may only be half that since the prior owners had upgraded a lot of things. Anyhow, the sprayer head recently developed an internal leak. Upon disassembly, it's obvious that there's a rupture in the middle of the copper tube (see picture below).

Are Delta faucets such as this one normally covered under a lifetime warranty? I don't have any proof of purchase -- except that I own the faucet! If Delta could send me a replacement sprayer head, that would be great.

If replacement from Delta is unlikely, where could I obtain the same kind of sprayer head? The "universal" ones I find only have external threads and a "trigger" button for switching from stream to spray. I'd like to get the same kind I have now (see picture below), which has dual buttons on either side of the sprayer head, and can be set to stream or spray and stay that way.

Well I'm not sure where you're located but I didn't have much luck here in Alberta. However if you took it to a plumbing wholesaler or if you called delta they may be able to get you the part you need. Delta has a 800 number you can google it to find it. Not sure if the warranty covers that. As far as I know delta warranty covers the faucet body itself. You'll have to see what they say. Delta is usually pretty good though in my experience.

Steve, I'll contact Delta and let you all know.

John, how can you tell which model this is? On the Delta Web site I found several models that look like this, all with slightly different model numbers, some discontinued and some not. But all the photos looked identical!

Off hand I can't give you a model #. Call there 800# be polite and they should be able to help. That faucet has been around for awhile. It has gone through several changes, most have been how the hose for the pullout head is connected to the faucet. The newer ones just snap on, but the older ones had a nut that connected to the faucet with a washer in-between. Have a look under the sink to see what type you have, it will be a big help to Delta so the can send you correct replacement parts.

I've also noticed the spray hose too difference too.The new ones are steel braided and the older ones have like a steel coil almost. Replaced my fair share of the old faucets due to that spray hose leaking. I have the new one installed in my house and its an awesome faucet.
