I am in the process of moving my laundry up from the basement of the house.

The new drain line is going to be very challenging in terms of twists, turns and fall to get to the central drain line.

Because of that, I had a question, which I guess is a bit unconventional.

Can you use a larger, maybe 2 inch, pex line as a drain for a washing machine?

Let me know what your thoughts are for or against?

If it is not possible, I can do the run with abs pipe, but I would love to save myself the aggravation of navigating the path if possible.

Thanks

Crazy Pex Question, deserves a Crazy answer

HELL NAW!!! damn! but the pipe in correctly, !!!!

you want the pipe not to have bellys in it,

by the time you supported the pex,you would have the pvc run

2" pex is about as flexible as 1 1/2" abs pipe. Besides the fact that it's 100% not for drainage, you will spend way more on fittings and the tools to connect it. Just do it in 2" abs, and do it right.
