Rite, I meant It makes me kinda feel a little guilty charging what we charge when it only takes 15 minutes, but you are rite, the company has to make ends meet. But charging more than a layer or Doctor? All I was saying is, this person had a faucet installed not a root canal!

When is the last time a Dentist came to your house to give you a cleaning. Most flat rate pricing has all other expenses factored in. Its fine if you want to charge as per the job. Like some people have stated some jobs are easier/more accessible than others. Flat rate is flat rate doesn't take certain factors into account. Most auto dealers use a pricing book to work on cars, same thing. The difference is you drop your car off to them. I'm sure companies could lower rates if people ripped out there plumbing and brought it to the shop.

i charge $65.00 trip charge and $125.00 first hour. total $185.00 first hour

$100.00 hour after that.

their is no 15 minute jobs, i am on the hook to you for a hour,

I have never agreed with ticket hours, seems kinda sleezy to me.
ever since I worked for someone who collected ticket hours but paid hourly...soured me on that

Back in 08 i worked for a service company and they were by the book pricing. I would sometimes make adjustments because some of the pricing was crazy. I only worked service for a year of the 25 i have been a plumber, not a fan. I do see some justification in the charges that some people ***** about though. They dont factor insurance cost, gas, trucks, tools, etc. They would say i should have been a plumber because doctors dont charge that much. Like i was getting paid the 150 a hour.
