Im I licensed plumber (City of Phoenix) in the state of Arizona (been a plumber for 11 years) and I am trying to move to Illinois. I acquired my license after received my 4+ years experience working under a master plumber. Illinois seems to require a documented 4 year apprentice program in order to take the Illinois state exam. Having obtained my license through experience only, I'm struggling with Illinois allowing me to sit for the state exam. Has anyone one else had a similar experience and if so, what was the outcome? I find it silly to have to "start over" when I'm more than capable to prove my ability and knowledge of the trade. Thanks in advance

Have you contacted Illinois licensing department? Thay should be able to answer this better than any of us who aren't in Illinois.

Yea I’d call Illinois and ask the people who make the rules. I can already tell you that Illinois plumbers do not want you there so they’ll probably make things difficult.
