I have two sewer mains in my house. One of them onlyl has two sink on it. It is a 4" main that leaves the house through the basement wall and runs under the garage floor. The pipe is broken near the wall but the brake is under the garage slab.

Is there a way to run a 3" inside the pipe for a few feet to get past the brake?

that would cause a restriction,,,

the problem with doing that,,is the bottom of the pipe.

would cause a trap for grease/hair, etc

if you were to repipe the 2 sinks...with 2'' or 3'' up to the 4''..you could do it

but you can not just put a smaller pipe in the bigger one

can you explain, how its pipe

The 4" is all horizontal. There is a 2" running from the kitchen sink to the 4" main near the clean out. There is a 1-1/2" from a sink pump into the 2".

Basically I would have the 2" vertical running into a 3" that transition to a 4". Should work from a flow standpoint. Just not sure if or how I could seal the end of the 3" where it would transition to the 4". Really trying not to break up the slab.
