Just a little assistance or info. Thanks ahead of time.

I have some marks on my tub which I was wondering what to use to remove if I can at all.

A friend of mine used a step stool to reach curtain rod, and the rubber foot pads left these marks.

Can some one advise. We tried cleanser etc., to no avail.

Thoughts.

i would first try toothpaste, placed on a rag and rubbing in a circular motion. If this doesn't work, I would try Barkeeper's Friend. it is about the least abrasive powder available.

Bar Keepers Friend contains Oxalic Acid and Glass Oxide Abrasive. The acid does a good job of removing stains and light rust. Another product I also use is Bon Ami. It does not contain the acid, and its main ingredient is Feldspar. It may be a little less abrasive than Bar Keepers Friend.

Before I would use any abrasive cleaning product, I would try rubbing alcohol on those marks. If that did not work, I would try acetone (fingernail polish remover). If neither of those worked, then I'd go with the stuff mentioned above.

Another option might be scratch and swirl remover for car finishes. It is a pretty mild abrasive - usually a little less so than regular rubbing compound.

Definitely don't use acetone if it is not a porcelain tub.
