Lately, after I flush, there is a spraying noise inside the toilet tank. I took off the lid to see where it's coming from and as the water is refilling, it's also spraying out of the top of the ballcock tube (?) where it seems a cap is screwed on. This morning, I heard a drip from inside the tank so I took the lid off again and saw little drips coming off of the cap....hmmmmm.....what's up?
Thanks!!

Sounds like you need a new ballcock assembly. They could be found at any bix box hardware store, and costs about $12.00. For detailed instructions on the installation, peruse through the toilet threads in this forum, or contact a local plumber or handyman, who can easily install this in about 10 minutes.

Thank you! To be safe, I shut of the water valve under the toilet itself until I get home.:)

Replace the existing unit with a Fluidmaster 400A fill valve. Under $10 at most hardware and Big Box stores. It comes with very good instructions. It will also eliminate the ball.

Dripping ballcocks may also require a urologist :D

I know it was too easy but, I just couldn't help myself.

trust me, I new the jokes were comin'.....I was hoping the technical term could be abbreviated or replaced with an acronymn!!;) Thanks guys!

It's been a while since I've been on this site, but have replaced the "guts" of both of my toilets. Thank you for your advice on my question :) I appreciate all of your help since I know NOTHING about plumbing.
