Attaching Tub Spout

I purchased a Moen T2253EP Brantford Posi-Temp Tub and Shower Trim Kit from the plumbing supply store. I wanted to go with PEX, so they also sold me a Moen M-Pact Posi-Temp Pressure Balancing Valve with 1/2" Crimp Ring PEX Connection. I’m close to the finish line with tiling the enclosure. My question is where to cut the copper pipe in order to install the tub spout.

Folks, in the future, stub out and use brass nipples off well supported drop ear fittings.
For such a fine shower, no need to go cheap and have just copper pipe.
