I want to replace my anode rod in Air tap 66. Manufacturer is out of business. Bad smell coming from shower head ( hot water)? Hoping smell can be eliminated with new anode. With heat pump on top of tank I am not sure how to access anode.

Look on website of Manufacturer. There should be a picture of parts break down and where the
anode rod is at.

Mfg is out of business for long time. Heat pump has been disconnected and is working on electricity only. I think I see top of anode by looking down through area when heat pump filter is removed, I am wondering if I have to remove the entire top including heat pump( which is not working)

Usually they have a large nut for a socket to fit on in order take it out. They are very hard to get out so you might
want to have someone help hold the tank while turning on nut. Can you take a picture of the top of your
water heater and maybe we can find the annode for you.

Here are some pics since the heat pump on top does not work I am considering removing it then I can get to anode rod easier not sure
When I look through small slot on top I can see the top nut on anode but not sure I can get to nut through that slot

I finally got the one and 1/16 inch hex bolt removed
underneath I see what looks like is the anode if you look at my two pictures the Hex bolt has threads on both the outside with the Teflon tape and on the inside can’t figure out how to remove anode
