Age of A. O. Smith Water Heater

I've tried to research the age of my A.O. Smith water heater, but I'm not sure if I'm understanding the codes correctly.

The Model No. is ECS 40 200
The Serial No. 1410A038949

Any help would be greatly appreciated

The first two digits of the serial number are related to the manufacture year. The next two digits are related to the manufacture week.

So with your specific water heater, it was built in the second week of March, 2014.

It was manufactured March 11, 2014.

You can punch the serial number in on AO smiths warranty checker and it’ll give that to ya
