Is it acceptable for Vent line running straight down for 10 inches and then run back up and assume the normal 1/4" per foot ascent?

I'd rather not drill a hole into a joist that's looking pretty sorry. It's got a nice size buckle into.

Thanks

Could I drop the wye which connects the air vent and p trap just below the joist? That way the air vent never runs down. It just starts lower.

Post a picture of what you're trying to do

P-trap and wye connected to the vent line are now positioned below the joist. This way I don't have to hole saw the shoddy joist. Acceptable?

no, because waste would go into the vent line

your vent has to roll up.

the invert of the vent has to be above waste line 22.5 degrees minimum roll

Thanks frodo. So if I dropped the wye a couple inches I could roll the vent connection to 22.5 or more. Is that correct ?

The plan is to run the vent line from the wye under the beam and then across and up to the existing vent line. I'm going to cut the existing line and install a tee. Does that work?
