I’m curious about something. Everywhere I have lived for years with my wife have had way too high water pressure in the apartment or home. (100-110 psi) We’re on our second home now. I didn’t do anything about the first house, but I did on this one. I brought it down to 70psi.
I have learned the importance of expectation management over the years, so before I embarked on this project, I told my wife that normal pressure will feel unusual for her since she has always been used to excessive pressure. She voiced understanding, but since I lowered it, constant complaints.
To be clear, everything is functioning as expected. All fixtures giving 70 psi now.
How often do you guys get complaints like this after installing these?

the plumbing code says that 100 psi is too much 75 psi is good , some of the problems with high water pressure is
toilet ballcocks can not close off against high pressure, saftey valve of hot water tanks will leak . valve seats and washer will score . just a few

Oh I’m aware…. Now convince my wife. I was just curious how many people call and complain after you reduce it to what it should be.

It you messed with your PRV's, it possible your screens to your sinks may have collected particles of crap. Clean the screens and see if your pressure "feeling" increases, without touching the PRV.

😂😂💃. It's probly the shower she complains about most. Mine did so I did the unthinkable in Kalifornikrazy ... I removed the flow restricter. I can now go mountain biking, kayaking, fishing or whatever and ... no complaints. // There's some trooth in that 'ol sayin': "Happy wife, happy life" ... tho I've nver heard "Happy mister happy missus". // Dang, but this made my goofy Kalifornikrazy mornin' ... and, oh yeah, many manufacturers of toilets, faucets, irrigation equipment don't guarantee their products if pressure too high.

My California approved shower heads include 3 separate restrictors. Two pop out manually, but the third restrictor requires drilling out. Lordie, please don't tell my Governor.

Thanks everyone. Again, I am pretty confident in my install. Good idea to improve the shower head. And yeah, I had the aerators on my to do list, but that’s not the issue. Again the flow is good. My wife is just used to 100 psi+

I have plenty of customer homeowners who refuse pressure reducing valves. I make them sign a refusal of service to install the PRV and rock on. I just have to cover my butt since I’m in business but I understand because I have around 90psi at my house and no way I’d let anyone reduce it. I like filling up a 5 gal bucket in 12 seconds and using 6gpm showerheads at 90psi that’ll take a nipple off
