3 inch bath tub drain (shoe?) crane

I have an older house that has a crane bath tub. I chiseled out the tub shoe (tub drain) because I wanted to replace it with a nice one from lowes that you could step on to open / close the drain. Turns out, this is a crane tub and requires a 3 inch drain (tub shoe).

I can't find anywhere that can provide one of these, I even called a professional plumber locally.

What can I do?

usually the waste and overflow is 1 1/2 is the whole in the tub much larger than normal ?????if the drain is 3 inch you can just adapt to it with couplings or bushings can you show pics show we can help better????
