Hello,
I had an addition put on my house to add a second bathroom. I was under the assumption that a toilet drain pipe had already been run up through the wall, but I found out that it is connected to the main vent/drain stack. The drain pipe is 3" and drains into the 4" main stack. I was told I can drain the toilet directly into this. I have attached a picture that I hope illustrate the current flow of the drains and vents. My main concern is that the double sinks on the first floor bathroom drain/vent directly into the 4" pipe (about 2 feet away for the left sink and maybe 6" for the right). Will it be okay to have toilet waste draining past these sink vents?
Additionally, the upstairs tub/shower and single sink will tie into the same 3" drain before going into the 4". The boxed area in my illustration represents the new work.
If you need additional information, let me know.
Thank you
