I am a real plumbing novice. Thanks in advance for any advice. I am trying keep the pipes from freezing and I live about 3 hours away from the house and only able to be there on the weekends (Literally closed last Thursday). Going to have really cold weather there this week. Low's in the teens.
Yesterday I was not able to get the main water shutoff at the meter so I left the faucets slow dripping. Today I was able to get someone there to shutoff the main water at the water meter at the street. With the main water shutoff turned off at the street and the faucets slow dripping, this should keep disaster at bay, right? I would think the water is turned off and the slow drip will empty the pipes. Its a really small house, 640 sq ft, only has a sink in the kitchen and bathroom, toilet and shower.
What's your opinion? And advice? Thanks again
