Why are there 4 lines in my kitchen sink?

Hello,

I'm planning to install an under sink filter in my kitchen - I was looking under the sink to look at the connections to be sure I knew what to do but I couldn't figure out why I had my hot and cold lines and 2 extra lines (which appear looped or connected).

I looked around on the web but couldn't solve this mystery. My apologies if this is obvious, I have no prior experience doing any plumbing work

I didn't know why I didn't think to do it sooner but I went to manufacturer website (delta) and looked at some parts list and figured it out. Turns out its a spray cap/diverter for installing a separate spray hose.

Makes perfect sense!
