What type of tubing should I use for the drain line of the softener?

Any tips? Should I just get that clear plastic tubing? 1/2"? Larger?

As long as it will fit the softner fitting it will be fine. Where are you draining it to?

Just a floor drain with an air gap. Not ideal, I know. I'm working on it.

Nothing wrong with that as long as you use an air gap.
